Homemade Vegan Pizza Tips & FAQ
This gluten free pizza base does not require yeast and since there is no gluten it is a no knead, no rise recipe! The lentils create a deliciously soft and chewy texture and all you have to do is blend, bake and you’re done!
This vegan pizza crust is simply made from red lentils, salt and water for a super high protein pizza base alternative. Most traditional pizza dough is already vegan since it is made with flour, oil, water, salt and yeast.
Most of the time, gluten free pizza is made using a combination of gluten free flours and starches like rice flour, almond flour, potato starch, and tapioca starch. These are then combined with other ingredients like oil, sugar and salt and sometimes yeast to help the dough some rise.
Use a hot pizza tray that has been preheated in the oven prior to adding your pizza base on to bake and keep your pizza base thin to achieve a super crispy base to your pizza crust.
My favourite dairy free cheese alternative for pizza is the simple homemade 3 Ingredient ‘Cheesey’ Sauce from my Easy Vegan Eats E-Book. It replicates the delicious melty cheese factor you get on a pizza (without a whole bunch of unnatural ingredients.) Win Win.

Pour the crust mixture onto the tray and bake until firm. Add your favourite toppings, drizzle with Vegan Queso cheese and return to the oven until they are cooked to your liking. Easy peasy!
