Chocolate Covered Strawberry Smoothie Bowl Tips
+ How to make the best Smoothie Bowls!
A few great sources of plantbased protein to add to your smoothie are: hemp seeds, chia seeds, flax seeds, vegan protein powder, frozen peas, tofu, chickpeas, oats, spirulina and soy milk.
Smoothies are made thicker when serving as a smoothie bowl and ingredients like granola, nuts or berries are added on top to chew/crunch on. You drink smoothies out of a glass, whereas smoothie bowls are eaten with a spoon out of a bowl like these coconut bowls!
This strawberry smoothie can be made with almond milk, water or any other non-dairy milk you prefer.
Strawberries are high in antioxidants, fibre, vitamin c and a great source of manganese, folate and potassium.
If using vegan protein powder (like Botanika Blends protein in ‘Vanilla Cake Batter’ or ‘Cacao & Hazelnut’ flavour as recommended for this smoothie) it will also be packed with protein, probiotics, calcium and both essential and non-essential amino acids!
Top your smoothie bowl with anything from fresh fruit, nuts and coconut flakes to cacao nibs, puffed grains, dried fruit and granola! Check out the list of smoothie bowl topping ideas below for this Chocolate Strawberry smoothie bowl!
Blend frozen ingredients (in this case frozen strawberries) using a high-powered blender and add as minimal liquid as possible. You can also add other ingredients like frozen zucchini, frozen cauliflower, avocado, tofu, cashews, frozen non-dairy milk cubes or ice to thicken your smoothie if it turns out too runny.
Eating your smoothie out of Coconut Bowls not only makes them 10x more fun and aesthetic, you are also helping the environment by using a recycled product of nature and improving the livelihoods of rural artisans, coconut farmers, and their families if you buy beautiful handcrafted coconut bowls here.
