Maybe you’re looking for sustainable gift ideas, healthy stocking fillers for fellow vegans/plant-based friends or family, a crowd-pleasing vegan Christmas recipe, party snacks, or some impressive healthy sweet treats to add to your festive grazing platter.
Look no further than… FRUIT MINCE PIE DESSERT BALLS!
These dessert bliss balls are…
- filled with festive sweet spices
- made entirely with cheap, pantry stable ingredients!
The only equipment you’ll need to make this recipe is a food processor or blender (a Thermomix works amazing) and your hands!
Yes! It just involves dried fruit, nuts and spices so unless those ingredients have been contaminated with gluten, then this recipe is definitely gluten free.
This recipe hasn’t been tested without nuts since it is replicating a traditional fruit mince pie filling. However you could try using oats or oat flour instead of almonds in this recipe and adjust the quantity to result in a slightly sticky dough texture (it just won’t have the same texture or nutty flavour as this original recipe).
The raw almonds could be substituted with another nut such as cashews, walnuts or pecans. Mixed nuts would also be a delicious idea for extra nutty flavours and texture!
TOP TIP: You could also use this bliss ball mixture as the sweet filling for a homemade vegan baked or raw fruit mince pie recipe!
