Tips On How To Make The Best Coleslaw
Red cabbage is used in this coleslaw recipe since you just can’t resist that beautiful vibrant purple colour! You can use any kind of cabbage such as green cabbage, savoy cabbage or Napa cabbage or a combination of for a pretty colourful coleslaw!
Coleslaw salad is the perfect fresh side dish to any savoury meal, BBQ spread or food platter. This easy side dish goes well with this hearty Vegan ‘Meatloaf’ or stuffed mushrooms for a delicious, healthy plantbased dinner.
Cabbage is made up of about %92 water. When you dressing to the cabbage the salt in salad dressing draws out water from the cabbage by breaking down the pectin in the cell walls. This is why sometimes your coleslaw goes watery.
To keep your coleslaw fresh and crunchy (not watery), add your salad dressing to the vegetable ingredients just before serving. Store leftover salad in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
It is best to wash fresh produce before consuming, and the same goes for cabbage since there could be dirt or small insects wedged in between the leaves. Make sure the cabbage thoroughly dry before chopping.

What is tahini? What do I use tahini for?
Tahini is made by grinding sesame seeds into a smooth paste. It is a great nut-free alternative to nut butter in most recipes.
You can use tahini to create creamy sauces, dressings, add to Hummus, desserts or spread on toast with jam/banana! Tahini is also a delicious addition to smoothies like my favourite Hot Cross Bun Smoothie and vegan treats like these Chocolate Bliss Balls!
